This vacuum is 10 times better than my ancient vacuum which was older than I am. It sucks up stuff it is supposed to and keeps my home clean. As a consumer, it is good to know that this vacuum gets stuck under my kitchen cabinets and does not turn easily. Its attachments do clean well and suck up access residue. However, this vacuum is louder than I expected. When on self propel on the hard wood, it is VERY loud! My husband always checks on me to make sure the vacuum isn't dying...because it sounds sickly. A word to the wise, this vacuum works well, but is noisy and has an occasional smell. Keep it clean on the inside and the smell will be minimal.

this vacuum really picks up fine dirt or dust you can't really see. I love this vacuum. I'm glad I read the reviews about it first before purchasing it. This my second Hoover, my first lasted for 18 years. Hoover makes amazing products. This one wasn't that expensive either.

Very happy with the product. I would suggest going ahead anbd buying the extra extension cord when you buy the vacuum. Self propelled works great - has on off button and when on wood floors you can turn it off.

Rated really high in consumer reports, and it lives up to the hype. Works great...no prob with the hepa bags. It's really noisy though. I recommend wearing hearing protection. I wish the hose was longer...I guess you can buy an extension for about $40. As a person with severe back problems this vac has been a godsend with it's powerdrive. I would recommend. It lost a star due to how noisey it is..

The good: Really picks up dirt from carpet without discharging irritants back into the room. Somewhat quieter than the older model. Nice long cord. Attachments store efficiently on the unit. Price was very attractive.
The less good: It is heavier than the older model. Hauling it up and down the stairs would be such a pain that we will use the new vacuum on the main level of the house and use the older unit for the second level. The short attachment hose is also a minus.
Overall, this machine seems to be well worth the price.
