This vacuum rocks-- strongest hand vac that I've ever used even if it is an older vacuum. When the belt split & came off recently, I checked both on Amazon and on Hoover's website directly. These are the 38528-033 belts. Their easy to install on my hoover bagless. When I noticed the vaccuum wasn't picking up any dog hair I realized the belt had broken. The only reason I give it four stars is these belts brake too easily. I recommend never being without an extra, but their cheap, easy to install, and the vaccuum works great.

The description and Hoover's part# could be better. As another reviewer notes, 40201160 is Hoover's part# for TWO of the belts that I was trying to find using the part# in my instructions. But once I figured it all out, I got 4 for 3 (Amazon's occasional promo in housewares) plus Free Shipping so I am quite pleased that I got a good deal and didn't have to fight department store traffic.

I would never buy a Hoover vacuum cleaner again. Their customer service is the worst I've ever seen, there is no service near by and they expect you to pay postage if sending the big non working plastic junk to them or drive 65 miles to their service center.

Never again Hoover.
