A Musical Genius

Say you're listening to a song you really like and want to hear other tracks that go great with it. The Genius Playlist feature finds the songs in your music library that go great together and makes a Genius Playlist for you. It's like having your own highly intelligent, personal DJ.

Find Your Music Faster

It's even easier to find the song you want to hear. Now you can view your album art in Cover Flow. Or just press and hold the Center button to browse by album or artist. When you find the right song, press the Center button to add it to your on-the-go playlist.

Rock and Roll Over

Tilt or turn iPod nano on its side, and you'll listen, watch, and play in new ways. You can flip through your album art with Cover Flow. Or, vertically speaking, see more albums and artists on the screen at one time.

Shake Your Groove Thing

Sometimes, we could all use a little unpredictability. And now you can shake to change your music. Just give iPod nano a shake, and it shuffles to a different song in your music library. You'll always be surprised by what you'll hear.

Let the Games Begin

Now you can get in on games made especially for iPod nano and the accelerometer. They respond to the way you move, so they're immersive, addictive, and a blast. The iPod nano comes with Maze, which lets you work your way through vast mazes by tilting and moving. You can find even more games on the iTunes Store.

Even Your Photos Rock

Pull hundreds of photos from your pocket and share them wherever you go. Hold iPod nano upright and see your photos in portrait view. Turn the player on its side to see them in landscape. Your photos look beautiful in their proper aspect ratio on the vibrant, 320-by-240-resolution display.

The World's Biggest Small Screen

Watching movies, TV shows, and videos is big fun on iPod nano. And the high-resolution picture looks crisp and vivid on the 2-inch widescreen display. So you can always have a little video with you.

 "A very solid product" 2009-07-18

By Jay (USA)

I purchased the 8 GB ipod nano for my wife recently after she'd constantly borrow mine when she worked out. I loaded it up with music for her and she couldn't be happier. The device itself works and looks great leaving her completely happy with the product. I'd think most people have ipod's at this point, but if you don't and are a fan of music it would be a great investment.

"apple is too controlling about devices" 2009-07-18

By V. von Krause

I finally decided to upgrade from my iPod mini that I bought 4+ year ago. I put this new nano on my old iPod charger, and I get a message saying that this accessory is not supported and my nano will not charge. It is an Apple accessory! All because it is old doesn't mean I should have to buy a new one and let Apple have their way before I can have some battery usage or go on vacation! This nano also fails to charge on a dock that I have, limiting the amount of time that it will play on the speakers.

This is nonsense. Had I known, I would have never bought another one of Apple's products.

"A Stick Of Gum That Plays Music" 2009-07-17

By Jeannie Voong

I have an older Nano that I really enjoy, but wanted to get a new one for the video and photo features. (Mine is the older older one). The design of this Nano is very thin and light, which I love, and the screen, although small, does allow me to carry photos and video around with me.

I have really enjoyed having this and all the music and video right with me, slips easily into a pocketbook and seems to be the size of a stick of gum just about, Until you hold one, it words really do not show how thin it is.

I do use my older Nano and shuffle for working out, since I have things to hold them and they seem a bit "tougher." It is not that I have had any issues with the new one, I have just sort of fell into using it for different things.

Some of the older items will not work with this, but it really is a completely different design. For the features it added to what I had, it was a good purchase.
